For Candidates

Your interview, step by step

Seven phases, from joining to done — here's exactly what happens at each one.

1. Join

Open your invite link — it's your secure access to the interview. You'll confirm the one-time code that came with it, see the details of the invitation, and run through a quick system check.

2. Consent

Before anything else, you'll see an AI-disclosure and recording consent screen. The interview cannot start until you agree. If you decline, that's respected — nothing is recorded.

3. Device check

A quick test of your microphone and camera before you go further.

4. Practice

One unscored warm-up question, so you can get used to the format and to Maya's follow-ups before anything counts.

5. The interview

Maya asks questions by voice — answer naturally, in your own words. You can talk over Maya if you need to (barge-in), and Maya won't cut you off mid-thought. A countdown shows the time remaining, and any brief pauses or disconnects are credited back, so they don't cost you interview time. The browser also flags basic integrity events, like tab switches or leaving fullscreen — this is behavioral only, never emotion analysis.

6. Complete

A thank-you screen confirms you're done. Your responses go to the hiring team from here.

7. Declined

If you decline at any point, that's handled neutrally — declining is never held against you.

Your recording is private — served only through short-lived signed links, never made public. You can request erasure of your data at any time.
